Domestic enterprises have also developed a variety of different gas phase anti corrosion products, and have now formed anti corrosion liquid, anti-rust powder, anti-corrosion film, anti-static film, anti corrosion paper and other product series. According to different requirements, it can be applied to anti-corrosion of metal products, precision instruments, electronic equipment, petrochemical machinery, pipelines, marine equipment, transmission equipment, aerospace equipment and military products. It has a good effect on the anti-oxidation preservation of high-precision instruments and the anti-salt and moisture-proof treatment of marine products.
Due to the special anti-corrosion mechanism of gas phase rust prevention, different factors need to be considered when selecting specifically, such as:
Metal material and its own corrosion resistance: For the metal to be protected, use the appropriate VCI packaging material.
Term of transport and storage: Determine the specific packaging form, sealed or quasi seal.
Environmental conditions for transport and storage (relative humidity, temperature, contaminants, etc.).
Generally, the ambient humidity of the storage should be no more than 85%; the ambient temperature should be no higher than 65 °C, and the long-term direct sunlight should be avoided, preferably stored in a cool and ventilated place; during the transportation and storage process of the gas-phase rust-proof material, Care should be taken to keep the package intact; avoid contact with acids, alkalis, salts and other contaminants during storage and transportation; in the case of strong airflow, the package should be shielded in addition to the seal; it should not be stored in HCL, H2S, SO2 or other Acidic steam in industrial flue gas.

When using volatile anti-corrosion materials, you should also pay attention to the following points:
There shall be no spacer between the VCI packaging material and the metal, and the distance between the Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor material and the metal surface shall be less than 300 mm;
Gas phase anti rust materials are specially designed for metal protection. They are not recommended for other purposes; if not specified or verified, they cannot be used for product packaging with high explosive content and high gloss requirements; packaging contains zinc, cadmium, zinc-based alloys, magnesium-based alloys, aluminum. Before the base alloy and other products containing more than 30% zinc or more than 9% lead alloy, the adaptability test should be carried out before use. The product should be proceed adapted test before packaging products containing non-metallic materials such as plastic, rubber, oil, paint and so on;
Before the metal products are rust-proof, they should be cleaned and dried to ensure that they are clean; it is not allowed to touch the metal during the packaging process to prevent sweat or water from corroding the metal;
When the package is opened, the exposure time of the corrosion inhibitor surface in the air is not more than 4 hours; the VCI packaging material should be used as needed, and it should be re-packaged timely.
Products that exceed the storage period should be re-tested for rust resistance and used only after passing the test.
